Lets play with colours



Magical colours enjoyed by Pre- primary…


 26th Feb,2010 ,Children of pre-primary enjoyed an activity on colours on the occasion of Holi. In order to clear the concept of mixing of colours two transparent glasses were taken and children were told ' if we mix two colours a new colour will be made.'  Eg: In a glass Red colour was mixed with Yellow then Orange colour was made . Children were excited to see the magic of colours .Same activity was repeated with different colours i.e



White  +  Red  =   Pink


Black +  White = Grey


Blue +Yellow   = Green


This activity was done in all the sections of Pre-Primary.

Splashes on the occasion of Holi …
 
 Holi is a festival of colours.Children of Pre-school enjoyed making splashes on the occasion of Holi Festival .They did Hand printing with different colours on a sheet and then the sheet was cut in the shape of splashes .Crown of splashes were also made .Children enjoyed doing the activity with different colours.



This activity was done in all sections of Pre-School.

Let us explore the science world .....



On 26thFeb, 2010, Class I students organised role play on the Science world .They played the role of different inventions like Computer, Thermometer, Mobile Phone , Bulb , Tube light etc. They presented themselves with beautiful model, cutouts, masks and spoke few lines on the particular invention.They explained use of invention and who invented that the particular invention. Most of students participated and children learnt a lot through this activity.

Learning English

 Rhyming words of a, e , i , o , u  sound

Teachers of Pre - Primary organised an activity of rhyming words of (a ,e ,i ,o,u ) sounds for the children on 22, Feb ,2010. In this , teachers made slips having rhyming words of different sounds like cat, mat, map, lap etc. written on it and then she distributed the silps to the students .Teacher wrote the particular sound word for eg."at" on the blackboard and asked the pupils to check their slips, then she told the students that those who are having the chits  of "at" sound stand up and read the words written on their chits and side by side teacher was writing the words on the blackboard. In this way she continued this activity for other sound words like un, ob,ig, en etc .This same activity was done in other sections of Pre- Primary also.

 Children enjoyed this activity a lot and they learnt the rhyming words in an interesting and easy way.

Its Shopping time

Concept of money was taught in class II through a class activity in which a shop was organized in class room.
Price tags were put on the things and the same was written on the black board.One child acted as a shopkeeper and other students came to him as customers with fake currency notes.
They bought the things from the shop and the child who was acting as shopkeeper returned the balance.
Same activity was done many a times to ensure that each child gets a chance to buy and sell things.
Through this activity children learnt how to buy things , how to calculate the total money spent and how to calculate the balance.They enjoyed this activity a lot .Same activity  was done in all the sections.

Annual Day Celebrations

Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh celebrated its Annual Day for the junior and Senior wing. The Chief guests for the occasion were Shri Ravinder Nath Bansal, MLA, Shalimar Bagh, Shri Gautam Kant Niman, Metropolitan Magistrate, Shri Padamshree Mahabali Satpal, Addl. Director (Sports) and Ms Neelam Verma, Regional director of Education(East). Other dignitaries present were , The Chairman of the school, Shri K. L. Sobti, Managing Director , Shri Ajay Kapur, Hon’ble Principal, Mrs Alka Kapur and other principals of renowned schools of Delhi.


The programme began with the welcome of the guests by the Hon’ble Managing Director, Shri Ajay Kapur. The day saw a well co-ordinated cultural programme. The little wonders of the school stole the show with their performance ‘ Feast time in choco town’. The show also featured a dance performance ‘ Let’s be one’ by the Junior students spreading the message of unity, love and peace. The musical ballet ‘ Peep into the future’ performed by the senior students spreading the message to save the planet earth received tremendous applause from the spectators. The highlight of the day was the folk dance of Maharashtra ’The Waghya Murli Dance’ which has also been selected to be performed for the Common Wealth Games to be held in 2010. The Chief Head Girl of the school read out the school report highlighting the achievements of the current session in various fields.
The next on the show was felicitation ceremony wherein the students were awarded for excellence in academics, co-curricular and other fields.
The programme culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the hon’ble principal Mrs Alka Kapur. The programme was indeed a thumping success.
